Ancestry.com is the world’s largest provider of family history and personal DNA testing services, harnessing the information found in family trees, historical records and genetics to help people gain a new level of understanding about their lives. We believe most people have a fundamental desire to understand who they are and from where they came. By leveraging the latest technology and science, we help people discover, preserve and share their family history. Our core Ancestry websites have over 2.2 million paying subscribers around the world and an extensive collection of more than 17 billion historical records that we have digitized and indexed as of December 31, 2015. These digital records and documents, combined with our proprietary online search technologies and tools, enable our subscribers to research their family history, build their family trees, upload their own records and make meaningful discoveries about the lives of their ancestors. In 2015, approximately 1.5 billion records were attached to family trees. Subscription revenues from our core Ancestry websites accounted for approximately 78% of total revenues for the year ended December 31, 2015.
