Appointment of Principal Operating Officer
Effective July 9, 2019, the Board of Directors of Peabody Energy Corporation (the “Company”) appointed Charles F. Meintjes, current Executive Vice President – Corporate Services and Chief Commercial Officer, to the newly created officer position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company.
In satisfaction of the disclosure required by Items 401(b) and 401(e) of RegulationS-K, the section of the Company’s Annual Report on Form10-K for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2018, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on February 27, 2019, entitled “Executive Officers of the Company” is incorporated by reference herein. With respect to the disclosure required by Item 401(d) of RegulationS-K, there are no family relationships between Mr. Meintjes and any director or executive officer of the Company. With respect to Item 404(a) of RegulationS-K, there are no relationships or related transactions between Mr. Meintjes and the Company that would be required to be reported.
