On April 29, 2020, CytoSorbents Corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release to announce that the Company had received $1,092,698, net of transaction costs, in non-dilutive funding as an approved participant of the Technology Business Tax Certificate Transfer Program sponsored by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. The press release also announced that, as a result of receiving such funding, access to the public markets, and the Company’s favorable financial and operating position, the Company has decided to voluntarily return the approximately $1.4 million loan it had previously received through the Paycheck Protection Program established under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act so that the loan proceeds could be deployed to small businesses in greater need of support during the COVID-19 pandemic. A copy of the press release is attached to this Current Report on Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
