NEXA PROVIDES UPDATE ON JAROSITE PROJECT
Luxembourg, December 23, 2019 - Nexa Resources S.A. (“Nexa Resources” or “Nexa” or the “Company”) (NYSE and TSX Symbol: “NEXA”) hereby informs its shareholders and the market in general that it will re-evaluate the timing to implement the Jarosite process conversion (“Jarosite project” or “project”) at Cajamarquilla smelter.
As previously reported by the Company, the project had been delayed due to problems with its contractors and suppliers. Nexa has decided to revise the construction and execution plan for the project and it has therefore temporarily suspended the conversion. As a result, the scheduled shutdown of the Cajamarquilla smelter to implement the Jarosite process conversion will no longer occur in 1H20 and metal production for 2020 is not expected to be affected.
Nexa will keep its shareholders and the market informed of further developments for project return.
